How to become a member
Becoming a member is very simple, just come along to one of our meetings, or drop an email to firstname.lastname@example.org.
There is a membership fee, which is £25 pa or £15 if you join after June.
Where does the money go to?
The membership fees are spent on hall hire, equipment for the group, and affiliation fees to the Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers. This gives us access to a whole host of things, a list of which can be found here.
What does becoming a member get me?
Excellent things! You’ll not only be a member of a supportive, creative and interesting group, but you’ll also get access to:
- The guild library – a collection of books on a range of textile related topics, including some rare gems! Have a look at our catalogue!
- The guild equipment – the guild have a few wheels, a couple of drum carders and a selection of drop spindles that members can borrow. Have a look at our catalogue!
- Access to guild-run workshops – they do have extra costs to cover materials and tutors, but being a member gets you access to these
- Access to summer school, The Journal, and all other perks of being part of a guild that’s associated with the Association of Guilds of Weavers, Spinners and Dyers. (Isn’t that a mouthful!)
Interested? If you’re still not sure you can drop by for a taster session any Saturday!
